Wireless Wide Area Networks (WWAN) are the most common of all wireless networks, because all mobile phones are connected to a wireless wide area network. The main technologies are:

  • GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication)
  • GPRS (General Packet Radio Service)
  • UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunication System)
