ccextractor is a utility for extracting subtitles from a video file. It is an easy-to-use program designed for Mac computers.

Key Features

Extracting: ccextractor's main function is to extract subtitles from any type of video file and to save them in another format. Extracted subtitles can then be saved in .SRT, .RAW or .BIN formats.

Supported devices: this program is able to extract subtitles from various kinds of video devices. It supports DVDs, HDTV captures and other digital recording tools. It is then able to handle DVR-MS, TIVO, ReplayTV and Dish Network files.

Sharing: ccextractor offers the ability to share all extracted subtitles with other persons by emailing them or by any other means. In fact, the subtitle files are small in weight.
Editing: all files obtained via ccextractor are fully editable. As subtitles are saved in SRT format which is a kind of text file, it is then possible to edit them and change some attributes.


This software is an Open Source and is downloadable for free.

Other versions compatible with Linux and Windows platforms are available on the developers' Website.


It does not support adjusting the timing of subtitles.
