With current technology, it is possible to control some software on a computer from one’s mobile phone. For that, you need a tool like Remuco. It has been designed to allow you to control multimedia software with a portable phone. The phone and the computer must be equipped with WIFI or Bluetooth. It uses additional components that you put on your phone like Amarok, Audacious,Exaile, MPD, Rhythmbox, Totem, tvtime, VLC andXMMS2. Once all the modules are installed, you can control play/pause, volume, playlist management and much more. It is a freeware.
