is a game for your smartphone that was created by The Pokémon Company, Nintendo, and Niantic (a Google company) that implements augmented reality to bring virtual Pokémon into your environment. The goal of the game is to capture all 142 Pokémon by physically looking for them in your area and capturing them with Pokéballs. Once captured, you can strengthen and evolve your Pokémon by using resources found at Poké Stops or by battling them against other Pokémon in game arenas. All that you need to play the game is a good network connection and an active GPS.
