How to reinstall Cydia: on jailbroken iPhone

Cydia is a mobile application for iOS that enables you to find and install software packages on jailbroken iPhones, iPads, and iPods. Since its original release, the software has come out with updates that address issues with bugs and delays. In some cases, when the application is generally buggy, you may find it easier to simply reinstall the Cydia app in order to fully benefit from its updates. This article will teach you how to update or reinstall the Cydia application.

As mentioned above, Cydia's 1.0.336-1 update addresses a variety of concerns regarding application bugs and slow loading times. Specific updates include remapping optimization, more stable WebViews, faster scrolling, autocorrect packages, a more efficient menu refresh, shorter loading times, and user badge updates.

Reinstallation or updating of the Cydia app can be done manually and without the need to re-jailbreak a device. To proceed with the update, you must first download the new package of Cydia onto your iPhone via Safari Download Manager:

Once the file is downloaded, go to VAR / mobile / media / Download in iFile, and click cydia_1.0.3366-... phoneos-arm.deb > Install. The installation process shouldn't last very long.

Once installation is complete, close iFile, and restart your device:
