Firefox - Set the maximum number of suggestions displayed in address bar

April 2017

Upon typing in the smart bar (address bar) of Firefox, a drop-down list with a list suggestions shall appear and sometimes this particular list tends to be lengthy.

The reason is that Firefox is configured (by default) to provide up to 12 suggestions. If you wish to modify this number, here's how to proceed:
  • Open Firefox.
  • In the address bar type the following command:
  • about:config
  • Click on the "I'll be careful, I promise..." button
  • In the Filter field type:
    • browser.urlbar.maxRichResults
  • Double click and modify the value
