Google - Excluding a word from your search

November 2016

When you want to exclude a word from a search, you can do so by using the - sign after your search word followed by the word.
  • Example: animal -cat
  • Note that: there's an empty space between the two words!!
  • The web page will display "animal" but will not include the word "cat".
