Samsung Galaxy S - - vibrator not working

Individuals using various models of Samsung cell phone may face problems with their touch screen status or vibrator function. The Samsung Galaxy S in particular has got a problem with its vibrator once it is kept on the silent mode. Individuals can solve the problem by hard resetting the Samsung Galaxy S. The user can also check whether the motor inside the vibrator is working properly by performing a particular procedure. There is a test mode of motor which the user can access. A new menu is automatically found with the right access to all the applications inside the phone.

When put my phone in silent mode it lo longer vibrates. Is it a mechanical problem or can it be resolved through a firmware update or hard reset?

Solution


To check if the vibrator's motor is out of order:
  • Dial the following

  • To access the Vibra Motor Test Mode
  • You shall get the following menu:


=Vibration Test=
[1]motor ON
[2]motor always IN
[3]motor OFF
  • Tap on 1 or 2 to check it the phone vibrates. If it is not the case better contact your Customer service.


Works on most Samsung mobiles (touch-screen).
