How to auto redial: app, iPhone, Samsung, in Android

Certain phones have an auto redial function that allows your phone to automatically redial if a call is unable to connect. In this article we will show you how to enable auto redial on your device in the settings menu, and if that doesn't work, then we have an auto redial app that you can use.

Is there an auto redial app?

If neither of the above methods work or are satisfactory, you could use an app. There is the Auto Redial | call timer app for Samsung and Android devices which can be found and downloaded in the Google Play Store. This app will allow you to auto redial, fast redial and also auto hang up with the option of adding a hang up timer, that stops the call if it isn't answered after a given time. Unfortunately, if you are an iPhone user there doesn't appear to be a well reviewed iPhone redial app.

Is there an auto redial feature on iPhone?

There isn't a built in auto redial feature on iOS. The quickest way to redial a number is press the green call button on your phone. This will show you the last number that you called, all you need to do is press the green call button again and you will start making a call. Alternatively, go into the Recents in your phone and then tap on the last number that you called to redial it.

On an iPhone, there isn't a built-in feature for auto redialing. However, you can use the following workaround to simulate auto redialing:

  • Open the Phone app on your iPhone.
  • Dial the number you want to redial and press the Call button.
  • Once the call ends or gets rejected, go back to the recent calls list by tapping the "Recents" tab at the bottom of the screen.
  • Locate the recent call entry for the number you want to redial.
  • Tap the blue "i" icon next to the number to view the call details.
  • From the call details screen, tap the "Call" button to redial the number.

By following these steps, you can quickly redial a number without having to manually enter it again. Repeat the process as needed to continue redialing the number.

Note: This workaround relies on the recent calls list, so it may not be suitable for situations where you need to continuously redial a number for an extended period of time.

How to enable auto redial on Android?

The steps to enable auto redial may vary slightly depending on the Android device and version of the operating system. Here's a general guide on how to enable auto redial on Android phones:

  • Open the Phone or Dialer app on your Android phone.
  • Tap on the "Keypad" or "Dialpad" tab to access the dialer.
  • Dial the number you want to redial and press the Call button.
  • Once the call ends or gets rejected, you should see the call ended screen or be returned to the dialer.
  • Look for the "Redial" or "Call Again" option on the screen. It may appear as a button or an icon. Tap on it to redial the last dialed number.

Are there dedicated redial apps?

If your device doesn't have a built-in auto redial feature, you can try using a third-party app from the Google Play Store that offers auto redial functionality. These apps usually provide more advanced options and settings for auto redialing.

To find auto redial apps on the Google Play Store, follow these steps:

  • Open the Google Play Store app on your Android phone.
  • In the search bar at the top, type in "auto redial" or "redial" and press the search button.
  • Browse through the available apps and read their descriptions and reviews to find a suitable one.
  • Select an app that meets your requirements and tap the "Install" button to download and install it on your device.
  • Once installed, open the app and follow the instructions or settings provided to enable auto redialing.

Remember to check the app's reviews and ratings to ensure it is reliable and suitable for your device. Additionally, some Android phone manufacturers may have their own proprietary auto redial features, so you can also explore the settings or options specific to your device's manufacturer.

How to enable auto redial on Samsung phones?

Whilst this feature is no longer supported on recent models of Samsung phone, if you are using an older device then it should still work. In this article we will show you how to enable auto redial on your device, and if that doesn't work, we will show you an alternate, albeit less convenient method.

  • From the Home Screen, head to Applications > Settings > Call Settings > Voice calls.
  • Check Auto redial.

Alternate method

If your device no longer has the Auto redial feature in the settings, then an alternative method is as follows:

  • When you tap the Phone button on the dialler it will show the last number that was dialled.
  • If you double tap the phone button, it will redial the previous caller.

Whilst this is not nearly as practical as the auto redial feature, it should still save you some time.
