Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

I am having problems with Internet Explorer. When I try to connect to a website, the following error message is displayed:
"Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage".
Upon launching the diagnosis of the connection problem, I'm told that: "Windows cannot connect to the internet using HTTP, HTTPS, FTP. Check the firewall settings for the HTTP port (80), HTTPS port (443) and FTP port (21)".


Under Windows XP: Go to Control Panel > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings > Uncheck Proxy server.
