Android - How to turn off automatic apps updates

The auto update feature of the Play Store app will ensure that your apps benefit from latest capabilities and features (updates). But however this feature may consume the battery at the wrong moment. In this FAQ you will see how to turn off automatic app updates on your Android smartphone or tablet:

Method 1: Turn off auto update for all apps

  • Open the Google Play app.
  • Press the Menu key.
  • Select Settings > Auto-update apps.
  • Select "Do not auto-update apps".

Method 2: Turn off auto update for a specific app

You can turn off auto update for a specific app. The procedure is as follows:
  • Open the Google Play app.
  • Press the Menukey > My apps
  • The list of installed apps will be displayed.
  • Tap on the app of your choice to view its presentation page on Google Play.
  • Tap on the Menu key and uncheck "Auto-update".
