Ubuntu - Set the default action for executable text files




To set the default action for executable text files under Ubuntu, follow the below procedure:
  • Open the File manager.
  • Click on the File menu > Preferences.
  • Go to the "Behavior" tab.
  • Select the default action for "Executable Text Files":
    • Run executable text files when they are opened
    • View executable text files when they are opened
