Ubuntu - Navigate folders in a tree (Nautilus)

Here's how to navigate through folders in a tree view when using the Nautilus file manager, instead of using a static sidebar:
  • From your desktop, click on Files > Home.
  • Move your mouse cursor to the top of your screen and click on the Edit Menu > Preferences.
  • This opens the File Management Preferences window
  • Go to the Display tab > List View.
  • Tick the Navigate folders in a tree checkbox.
