This tutorial explains how to optimize Windows 8 for the best performance of background services, which can boost your PC when using the latter as a server (file sharing, printing, backup or storage).
By default Windows 8 prioritizes the performance of programs over background services, so we need to change this setting:
Open the Control Panel
> System and Security
> Advanced system settings
. Click on the Settings
button located in the Performance
The Performance Options
window opens. Go to the Advanced
tab and under Adjust for best performance of:
select Background services
Click on Apply
