Google Chrome - Sound Is lowered When Switching Tabs

Each time you move away from a tab on which audio or video content is being streamed, the sound is being lowered. This tutorial describes the different methods that can be implemented to fix a common problem encountered by many Google Chrome users on YouTube and other streaming services.

The first step is to check if you are running the latest version of Google Chrome. Click on the Customize and Control Google Chrome menu > About Google Chrome. Your browser will check for available updates and install them:


If the problem still persists after the update, proceed to the next step, which is to disable Adobe Flash Player in your browser. Type Chrome://plugins in Chrome's address bar and press Enter. Select the Adobe Flash Player and click on Disable:


The final step is to turn off Hardware Acceleration. Click on the Customize and Control Google > Settings > Show Advanced Settings. Go to the System section and then clear the Use hardware acceleration when available checkbox and restart Google Chrome:
