Apple Music is the new on demand music streaming service by Apple on July 30, 2015. Apple Music gives you access to the 37 million songs making up the entire iTunes catalog and stands as a direct competitor to Spotify. Apple Music is available on PC, Mac, Android and iOS devices (iPad, iPod Touch and iPhone) and offers a cheaper alternative to the purchase of music albums from the iTunes store.
Apple Music Subscription Fee
You can enjoy all the features of Apple Music during a free, 3-month trial membership, after which you can choose the membership plan that suits you the best:
Apple Music Single Membership
The single membership costs $9.99 per month and gives you unlimited access to the full iTunes library (in streaming mode only). You can listen to your favorite songs as much as you want, listen to radio stations (including Beats 1), discover new artists and songs, save content for offline use (tap on the 3 small dots appearing next to a song > Make available offline), follow artists on Apple Music Connect, create and share your playlists and much more.
Your membership also allows you to enjoy the full Apple Music experience on your various devices.
Apple Music is natively integrated to the new version of iTunes. You will notice the presence of the new menus in iTunes such as New, For You, Radio and Connect. The iTunes Store menu only allows you to purchase music. Use the New or For You menus to search and stream music (there is no specific menu for Apple Music):
Download Apple Music to Android
Apple Music for Android is bound to be released soon. It is most likely that the app will be released along with the Apple TV version.
Download Apple Music to iOS
To use Apple Music on your iOS device, you must first update it to iOS 8.4. You normally receive a push notification whenever a new version of iOS is available for your device, but if it is not the case go to Settings > General > Software Update > Download.
Prior to the download and installation of the new version of iOS, simply make sure that your device is charged and connected to Wi-Fi (to limit mobile data usage).
Apple Music can be accessed through the Music app of your iOS device.
