LG G4 - How to Enable Content Lock

This tutorial explains how to enable and use the Content Lock feature of your LG G4 smartphone. Content Lock allow as you to lock the access to photos and memos you don't want people to see on your phone. Content Lock currently works for the default Gallery and Quick Memo apps provided with your LG G4 smartphone.

To enable this feature, you need to go to Settings > General > Security > Content lock - Lock files for Gallery and memos for QMemo. You can either use a 4 digit Passcode or Pattern to lock access to your content. You will also need to select a Google account which will be used to recover your content in situations where you no longer remember the selected passcode. Tap on Ok to proceed.

How to lock or unlock content

Go to the Gallery and select the photos you want to hide. Tap the Menu button located in the top-right corner > Lock.

To view locked content, tap on the Menu button again > Show locked files and enter your passcode or draw the right pattern.

NB: A similar feature exists on the Samsung Galaxy S5 and later models. It is called the Private Mode. Learn more: Hide Files with the Private Mode.
