September 2016

This tutorial explains how to set up the parental controls feature of the Google Play Store. These controls will restrict access for Google Play application downloads and filter out any inappropriate content.

Enable Parental Controls in Google Play Store

Open the Play Store, tap on the Menu button located at the top left corner, and select Settings. Next, go to User Controls > Parental controls > For apps and content in Google Play:

Parental controls are disabled by default, so you will need to turn it On:

You will now be prompted to create a 4-digit PIN. This pin will allow you to enable or disable the parental controls on your device. Validate by tapping OK:

Head back to the Parental controls screen and select the type of content that you'd like to restrict (Apps & Games, TV, Movies, Books and Music):

Make your selections and then confirm:

Your parental controls have been enabled on your Android device. This feature can be turned off at any moment provided that you have the right PIN.
