You can choose who can view your personal information on WhatsApp Messenger. This short tutorial explains how to adjust your privacy settings on WhatsApp, and what to do if you cannot change your privacy settings. The procedure is the same for all versions of the WhatsApp app.
How to modify your WhatsApp privacy settings?
Open WhatsApp, tap on the Menu button displayed at the top right corner and then select Settings. Go to Account > Privacy > Who can see my personal info. What to do when you cannot change your WhatsApp privacy settings?
If after having changed your WhatsApp privacy settings you see the following message: Whatsapp was not able to retrieve current privacy settings, the most common reason is that you need to update your WhatsApp to the latest version. If the issue persists once you have updated to the latest version of WhatsApp, then try restarting your smartphone. If this doesn't help either, then the last option is to uninstall and then reinstall WhatsApp. Before you do this make a backup of all of your messages. After reinstalling the app you should now be able to follow the above steps to update your privacy settings.
