Microsoft Edge - How to Set Your Default Search Provider

Microsoft Edge, like any other web browsers, allows users to make searches directly from the address bar with Bing, its default search engine. However, if you regularly use Google or any other search provider for your online searches, then it is most likely that you won't like the way Bing works, due to the differences in SEO and search algorithms.

So let's learn how set default search engine of Microsoft Edge in a couple of easy steps:

Open Microsoft Edge and first go to https://www.google.com or any other website. This way, Microsoft Edge will automatically save the new search provider.

Click on the More Actions menu > Settings. Go to Advanced Settings and then click on the View advanced settings button. Click on the dropdown menu below Search in the address bar with and then select Add new:


Select a search provider from the list and then click on Add as default:
