Windows 10 - How to Fix the Something Happened Error Message

You are trying to install Windows 10, but got stuck on the Something happened error screen? This error due to some corrupted installation files and if you try to reinstall Windows 10 without re-downloading these files, then it most likely that you will encounter this error again and again. This tip explains how to fix this error:

Method 1 - Delete the corrupted files and download the update files again

Open the File Explorer, go to Folder Options and enable the display of hidden files and folders.

Navigate to C: \Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download. Open the Download folder and delete all content (files and folders).

Then, go to the Control Panel, open Windows Update and leave it open. Open the Command Prompt as administrator and then run the following command: wuauclt.exe /updatenow.

Windows Update will then download a fresh copy of the installation files.

Method 2 - Install Windows 10 from a USB key
