Error 905 on Google Play Store

Sometimes while downloading from the Google Play Store, users are met with an error message reading, "App could not be downloaded due to an error. (905)." This error leaves users with no other choice but to cancel the download operation.

This guide will walk you through the steps to solve the Error 905 on Android.

How To Fix the Error 905

The Error 905 is most likely to happen after a Google Play Store update (corrupted data or failed update). The trick is to revert to the previous version of the Google Play Store app. Tap on Apps > Settings > Applications > Manage Apps. Go to the All tab and select the Google Play Store:


Tap on Uninstall Updates to roll back to the previous version of Google Play Store. A window that reads, Restore this apps to its factory settings will be displayed. Tap on OK to proceed:


Once done, open the Google Play Store and try to download the app again.
