How To Change a WhatsApp Phone Number

September 2016

If you've recently acquired a new mobile number and are worried about retaining access to all of your WhatsApp contacts and data, not to worry. WhatsApp offers an easy option, appropriately dubbed Change Number, to update your number and transfer all saved data and messages to your new device. This process will also delete the account associated with your old number so that your old contact information is deleted from your contacts' lists.

It's important to note that Change Number should only be used if you are looking to hold onto all of your previously saved information. If you simply verify your number as usual, no old data will be found on the application.
