How to view the content of a .jar file?

May 2016

A simple method to view the content of a .jar file: firstly rename it in .zip file and open it.

If you want to see the content of java programs compiled as.class, you must use a Java decompiler like JAD: (a program that reconstructs the original source code from the compiled binary .class files).

Note that some .class files are protected by the Code obfuscation and cannot be decompiled.
