How to configure Windows mail for Gmail account

Issue

Hello, I've tried to configure Windows mail for my Gmail account and each time I'm trying to transfer messages from my Gmail towards Windows email I'm getting the following error:
account: ' pop.gmail.com', server: ' pop.gmail.com', Protocol: POP3, Answer of the server: ' - ERR AVG POP3 Proxy server: cannot connect to the mail server! ', Port: 110, Protected (SSL): Not, Error of server: 0x800CCC90, Number d' error: 0x800CCC90

Solution

  • Windows mail must be configure as follow;

Incoming mail server (POP3) - SSL necessary: pop.gmail.com
Connection SSL: Yes
Port: 995
Outgoing mail server (smtp) - TLS necessary: smtp.gmail.com (use authentication)
Use authentication: Yes
Connection STARTTLS: Yes (called SSL by certain users)
Port: 465 or 587 and you have to activated the pop3 transfer in your account Gmail.
