Transport Protocol TCP/IP is not installed

December 2016

Issue

I've been on a download site and since then I have error messages that appear when starting my computer: "Error 10091: Can not create socket "Transport Protocol TCP/IP is not installed ".

Since I no longer have access to my wireless network (which is normal considering the error!)

Solution

  • You must reset the TCP/IP.
  • To do this, go to: Start/Run/type cmd and click OK.
  • In the black window (command prompt), type:
    netsh int ip reset C:\resetlog.txt
  • Press the Enter key.
  • Then
    netsh winsock reset
  • Press the Enter key.
  • Reboot the PC and it should be ok
