Mac does not recognize my ID or password

I am having trouble since 8/29/17 with receiving email on my Mac. I am receiving mail on my iPhone and my iPad. The Mac does not recognize my ID or password. I do not want to change so I can keep all them the same. Can you help me?

Before you can access your account, you must logout of Gmail from your phone and iPad, don't just close the app, really logout of Gmail.
