Can't see windows fat32 drive on mac os x

Hello, Can't see windows fat32 drive on mac mini with os x. Tried reformatting the drive several times. Tried NTFS also, nothing seams to work. Can I download something on the drive to make the OS X system recognize the drive? This has been hard to understand, everything I've read says that the drive should be recognizable formatted as Fat32 on a windows PC SP2 XP system.
