i have a table with 2 columns. the first column sometimes has text (any text), sometimes not! the second column contains the amounts. i want a formula to calculate the max of the cells that have some text on the first column, and another one to calculate the max of the cells that don't have text on the first column. how can i do this?
example:
first column second column

4
j 3
2
the max of the named cells is 5 and the max of the empty cells is 4.
