Multiple cell copy to a single cell

Hello,

I am trying to copy the contents of multiple cells in workbook A to a single cell in workbook B. This worked fine in the 2010 version but, the 2016 version will not allow it. as soon as I click into a cell on workbook B the copy function is killed. I am able to make it work by using the clipboard however, the contents are the result of a vlookup and once the contents are copied to the clipboard the values are automatically pasted over the vlookup formula.

Any ideas?
