Files disappear when memory stick is removed from USB drive

Hello,
I can copy any file type or folder to my USB drive and the copies are there on the stick. I can open them, view the contents, so all seems to be as it should. Once I remove the stick from the USB port the folder remains but all contents have disappeared. What can be done about this, if anything.

There is a glitch. Try to copy the files into the folders.
