CoD4 Win7 Multiplayer crash

Hi, i just got CoD4 for PC, I installed it patched up to 1.5 (still searching for 1.6/1.7) and multiplayer is not working. This is a very common problem, but the only good solution is not working for me: I don't have stereo mix on my pc and i don't own a microphone (wich is pure *** cuz that not working, period). I don't know what to do, forums are my last hope, i wasted money on that game and i want to play it.

What are the specifications of your PC? Do they meet the requirements of the game? Where are you patching from, and do you know that these are good patches? If you uninstall the patches, does it run?
