Samsung Galaxy tablet power is not working

Hello, my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 had trouble responding to pressing the power and volume buttons to restart. I found that if i hold only the power button for 15 seconds, it will restart. Whe in standby my device opens after holding the power button for a 4 count. Why? IDK.
Of course make sure you have a good charge on your device.
