YUP swapping ram is a sure fix for a crashed PC. Who told you to remove the RAM?

You have failed to let us know, is this a PC, or laptop, or netbook? If it is PC, then since you are comfortable at opening it up, go ahead and get a NEW Power supply.

If it a laptop, it is getting hot, as you are probably using it on top of a blanket or pillow! If you took RAM out of a laptop, did you use ESD strap?

If it is a netbook, it is dead, and go get a another $199 computer.
