Can’t see subtitles in my vlc player on iOS

Hello

My vlc media player was working fine but suddenly subtitles size decreased and now I think I have to microscope to see them

same here. Except there are no subtitles at all. Same thing with my wifes ipad. It worked fine with the 2.8.7 version, but 4 days ago there was an update to 2.8.8 and since then no subtitles.
