Gmail account mobile verification problem

My galaxy A5 mobile phone had to be factory reset it needs the gmail account and password that was synced with it at time I bought it but it's not in use . And I can't remember the password I've tried the gmail recovery but they said they can't verify that it belongs to me because they can't send me a text...can you help .

Unfortunately, if, when you created the account, you have not registered an alternate recovery email address or phone number to which you have access to receive a reset code, you cannot prove that you are the account's legitimate owner. Hence account recovery is absolutely impossible and there is no way around it.
