Drafts will not save when e-mailing

It's in the sent folder. Draft is for incomplete messages that were not sent.

I am writing an e-mail and send it out but a copy does not go to my draft folder. Why is this? Shouldn't I be receiving a copy of what I send. If not, WHEN does something go into my draft folder? I have an e-mail that I sent and in addition to it being in my sent folder, it also went into my draft folder. Why doesn't that happen for all my e-mails?
