I recently bought a new pc. I plugged in my old 500Gb sata hard drive and its not showing Devices and drives. The drive does show under bios and device manager. Is there no way to fix the problem without having to format the drive as I have allot of data on the drive I wish to keep

I suggest you try changing the device letter in device manager and/or using another SATA connection.

Good Luck

Was the old drive from a Linux system? Then Windows will not open it.
