Laptop Webcam & Microphone don't work????

Hello,
I have a Dell Studio 1737. The webca, works on messenger but thats the only way i know how to access it. I cant find it anywhere like even when I type it in the search menu. Same goes for the micrphone. Does anyone know if i need new drivers or software and if so what are they called and where can i get them from internet wise?
