My Acer aspire 5630 froze so I had to manually close it down. Since then it gets to the XP logo then goes and freezes on the acer blue splash screen. the mouse moves but I cannot get file manager up or any function keys to work once at that screen. Have taken out battery and ac input held down on button and tried to reset it all. Have also during POST f2'd and can get BIOS so tried safe mode, safe mode with command prompt (ends in black safe mode screen and still no response to function buttons) system restore, debug mode,also tried changing boot order to cd boot from XP disk and this makes no difference. Have acer back up disks not tried these yet as don't want to loose data on computer - any suggestions?
