My dvd/cd burner not functioning

Hello,
I have a toshiba laptop satielliteM35x-S161 My cd/dvd/room burner not working and cannot even load CD to use to load programs. Can someone help me out here. I live in the boonies and need to get this fixed.also my screen went out and having to use another screen for it. Any suggestions? Cannot afford new computer right now

use a lens cleaner an get it cleaned

this should fix the issue
