System recovery lost files help!!

hi my little boy pressed something on my laptop and it went into system recovery that was the only option it was giving me otherwise it would just turn off my computer. once i did the system recovery none of my pictures and videos wasnt there some were from when i was young and i havent got them anywhere else i havent slept since this i really need them back please tell me theres a way of getting them back all i want is my pics and vids HELP!!
