Hello,
Hello,
My old SATA hard drive crashed and I replaced it with a WD5001AALS hard drive. I can't get Windows XP Professional to recognize the new HDD. It shows up in the boot sequence as healthy and configured but when I try to install The OS it says no hard drive detected. When I tried to set up the boot sequence in BIOS it shows the HDD not present. I'm pretty much a novice and can't figure this out. HELP!

hi there,

change the slot/bay on the motherboard

then go to bios and reset it to factory default

save and exit bios and boot from installation disk

Thanks
