My laptop wont connect to my sony bravia tv.?

Hello,
My toshiba L505D-S5983 laptop wont work with my sony bravia tv. The tv is only 6 months old and the laptop is only like a month and a half old. Its not an hdmi so i have to use a vga hd15 connector. Hooked it all up and its not working. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you enable the VGA port on the laptop and select the right input port on the TV?

You might need to search for the LCD/CRT function key to activate the output port.
