Laptop connection to tv

Hello,
I am trying to connect my laptop to my tv. I connected the S video cable and pressed the fn and f8 key. but nothing happens. i had done tht before a couple of months ago, and my screen would usually go blank and immediately appear on the TV. this time, however, my screen remains as it was.

There are normally 3 options:
1. laptop screen only
2. laptop screen and external screen
3. external screen only

Did You change the TV to use the external signal via the s-video input?

Did you try the F8 + Fn multiple times?

Hi,
I have the same problem, I have a series 7 cable, with the red, yellow, white connectors and an Acer laptop, I connect up, switch the tv to "av", but neither tv or laptop does anything. Please email me if you find out how to do it.
