Hello,
I just installed a new harddrive and cd/dvd drive. I am all set to run the Vista Factory Image Recovery discs; however, when I go to the Boot Menu to tell the computer to boot from the cd drive there is no cd/dvd drive shown. The cd/dvd drive came with a disc containing driver information. Does this disc need to be installed prior to installing Vista? If so, how can I do that with no cd/dvd drive to choose from in the Boot Menu?

The Vista recovery discs and the cd/dvd disc are not being read at all. I believe I installed everything properly and connections are good. Am I attempting this in the wrong sequence? Please advise at your earliest convenience.

Thanks

hi there,

since you loaded new hard drive and dvd drive

the model and size are not the same ,thus

first go to bios setup

and load default settings

save and exit then re enter the settings and change boot sequence making cd/dvd drive as primary boot

save and exit settings, and boot from installation disk and proceed with recovery or fresh windows installation

Thanks
