Cannot open mesages folder of nokia 6120

Hello,
Have this problem on my nokia 6120. Cannot open messages folder and several times switching to offline mode. Please help.

Dear Sir,

Please consider connecting your phone to your PC via the PC Suite

and get to the folder and delete part of the messages stored on it.

The problem should be occurring due to the fact that there is too

many files stored on it.
