Why does my sims 3 game crash?

Why does my game crash when i try to make a pool or a basement??? I have everything updated so I don't know y it keeps crashing

Dear Sir,

This problem might be coming from the fact that the system requirements is not being met. Please get the solution to the problem from the following article.
