Remote web control of video and electronics

I would like to set up remote internet control of a camera, light, fan, and one or more motors to allow me to remotely monitor and feed a pet.
I would like to use controllers that can connect to the internet directly (wifi or wired) without requiring me to use a local PC to host the controllers. I have one of those USB web cams, can I somehow connect that directly to the internet or to some type of USB controller so I don't need the PC. thanks, Bryan
