Hello,
I just updated windows media player today (October 26th 2008). When asked to restart the pc (when

finished with update) . I did so. but while rebooting, it hung up at a black screen and wouldn't come on

so I held in the power button to restart. BUT the power didn't come back on. I mean it is

dead. It seems like the power supply has died. Has this happened to anyone else? I don't

know if the update is related to the power but it is an odd coincidence. I checked the power supply

leads and am getting 3.3 or so volts/dc. Does anyone know what these SHOULD read? Anyway...

it's a HPa830n. WINxpHOME. Pentium4/ 4gigs ram.
thanks

hey there,

the windows media player update and the power supply failure arent related in any way. may be due to a power fluctuation and i would recommend that you change the power supply and also get an interruptible power supply to avoid these kinds of problems.
